Back to School . . . already!

I don't know if I'll ever get used to school starting at the beginning of August in Arizona. It shortens our summer by a few weeks and makes the summer break feel so short. Not that we can hang out much outside when it's 105+ for most hours of the day. Our average low through the summer is usually in the mid-80's so there really isn't a pleasant time, night or day, to be outside.

But anyway, here are my adorable, grown-up girls all ready for the first day of school. Kindly picked her outfit out at the store and has not deviated from her decision to wear it on the first day. She's even got Hello Kitty shoes to match!
Passion just looks so grown up to me.

Here's Kindly right outside her classroom. She and Passion get the indoor air conditioned hallways this year! Yea!

Passion is officially a 4th grader and Kindly is in 1st grade this year. The morning went smoothly and the girls were excited. All went well for Kindly until we got to her classroom door. She suddenly got really nervous and wanted me to come in with her, which I planned on anyway. We walked in and got her settled at her desk and then she started crying. Here she is a few moments after she dried her tears and let me take her picture at her desk.

I really do hate leaving my kids on the first day back to school. It's not fun. Especially when their scared. We next took Passion to her classroom. She was nervous too but fortunately there were no tears. Then we walked back past Kindly's classroom (as promised) and waved and blew kisses before Wisdom and I headed back home.
I really don't like how empty my home feels with the girls gone. Wisdom and I are just trying to fill our time this morning. Soon it will become the regular routine again but for now, I miss my girls! For all those who still have a few more weeks of summer break . . . I'm jealous.

WOW! That is early for school to start! Kindly doesn't look so little anymore and I can't believe that we have 4th graders!! YIKES! We start on the 22nd this year. So we have a few weeks left. It's good to see pictures!
