Halloween Party & Trick or Treating

Well I think the Halloween party was a success. The kids said they had fun so I guess that means I did a good job. With twelve kids ages 2-8 running around my house, it was pretty crazy and loud most of the time and my house was trashed by the end but . . . it's over now!
We played a lot of games including: Pass the pumpkin, Halloween Bingo, Mummy wrap, Bat toss, Pin the wort on the Witch and we had a Candy Corn relay. We also made Witches Brew (a mixture of really disgusting things like worms, snake eyes, witches hair, goblin fingernails, baked skeleton fingers, etc.). Don't worry, it was all really candy! It was fun to get really creative and plan it all out. Unfortunately amongst all the craziness I didn't take pictures of everything but here are a few pictures I did take.

Long-sleeved Halloween shirts have become a tradition while we lived in Idaho. I bought Halloween shirts a year ago right after Halloween at 50% off, not knowing that we'd be living in Arizona a year later where it's still 85 degrees in October. They hadn't wore them all month so I made the kids wear them to school on Halloween. They didn't complain so they must not have been too uncomfortable!

Trick or Treating
This year we had Hermoine (from Harry Potter), Cinderella, and a chicken.

Passion has really gotten into Harry Potter. We started reading the books with her a little over a year ago and we're now reading Book 4. She was very excited to be Hermoine and have poofy hair.
The girls enjoyed pretending that Wisdom was scared of everything all night since he was a chicken! And Wisdom played right along and screamed at all the right times.
Once while trick or treating Wisdom started to run across the road so I was chasing after him and I heard the some Trick-or-treaters say, "Look the chicken crossed the road!"
Here is our princess Kindly and can I just say, she is all princess. As soon as she put on her glass slippers and fancy gloves she was dancing around like this for most of the night. Such a goofy girl!

Hope you had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Carly loves Harry Potter as well. She read the first three books this summer, but we are making her wait to read more, since they get a little scarier with Voldemort involved!
I should get some recommendations from you on books Passion likes to read. Carly goes through books so quickly it is hard to keep them on hand.
