An update on our house!

So we've been completely moved in a for about a month now and I have just been waiting for my house to be clean enough to take a few "after" shots. I've come to the conclusion that it may never get clean enough to take pictures so today I just did it (so please excuse any messes). We are really enjoying our home here and the escape from the heat it provides on hotter days (which would be all of them!). We are looking forward to a little cooler weather which we are told will not come until November but at least the nights will begin to cool into the 60's by the end of September. That will make a huge difference! I'm getting a little tired of taking the girls to school at 8 am and having it already be 90!
My favorite thing about this house is all the windows. We rarely use lights at all during the day. The downside is that the windows let in a lot of heat (our energy bill proves that) but it is so worth it to have such a bright and cheery home. It especially helps with homesickness! :(

It's really interesting to look at all those photos now and see how far we've come! It really is fun to turn a house into a home! And we are so grateful for this home!

Oh, and our home in Caldwell is officially sold. We closed on it last Friday, August 31st. It was very bitter-sweet but we are so grateful and recognize how much we have been blessed throughout this process as we've seen the hand of God in our lives several times.

Nice job, it really is a beautiful home! I agree the light is such a blessing, we "close up" in the summer here to keep the bills and heat down, and I am so ready for fall to let the light in! Miss you, but still have the monkey song in my head... I might need Travis to write down the words for us :) Hugs!!

Your house looks so cute. Moving is so hard, especially when you are far away from loved ones and are homesick. I hope that things get better each day for you and before you know it, it will feel like you are home!

I love the house! You did a great job with the decorating. I especially loved that there were papers on the fridge. I think that at least for me, showing off the art work etc. on the fridge makes me feel like home. Your post about your mom made me want to cry. I understand the moving emotions and hope that you start to feel better soon.
