After the weekend we headed further south to Newport to see the Oregon Coast Aquarium. The hotel had a pool and the kids had fun swimming. The Aquarium was really worth the drive. The kids got to watch the seals do tricks and had fun learning about all the marine life. Here they are looking at the sea lions.
There were really cool tanks that you could walk through so that you literally had fish swimming above you . . .

. . . and all around you!
They also had a lot of things for the kids to play with. They had a submarine where you could listen to underwater sounds and drive the sub. They had a fishing boat where you could pretend to catch magnetic fish and buy them at the fish market. They had sandboxes to play in where you could keep one shell that you found. The kids really enjoyed all those parts of it.
And then of course the girls enjoyed the touch tanks! Wisdom wasn't very interested in touching anything slimy and wet so I took him on a walk while Travis stayed with the girls at the touch tanks. He was asleep in about 5 mins. I guess vacation can be tiring!
We stopped at some shops that were along the walk from our hotel to the aquarium. There were pirates like this all over. Kind of spooky how real life they looked!
After Newport we headed back to Vancouver to visit with some of Travis' extended family. We also went to the Portland Zoo and saw some really cool animals. Wisdom was especially excited about seeing the "ippo."

We had a really wonderful trip and enjoyed being able to get away before all the craziness of the move began. Thanks everyone for a great time!!!
