My Mom's Mother passed away last Sunday after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I had the honor of serving her over the last month and a half of her life and it is a time I will never forget as I was able to sacrifice my time for her as she has done on countless occasions for me.
I feel so blessed to have known my Grandmother. Some of my fondest memories are of her hot, just out the oven homemade bread with real butter on it (never yet tasted any as good), her amazing cinnamon rolls with chocolate chips in them (my mouth is watering), lots of hugs and kisses, her loud whistle, how beautiful she was, visits, milkshakes, and paper doll books when I was sick, Christmas goodies, Christmas gifts, and her delicious potatoes & eggs. I have so many more memories of this wonderful woman.
Her name was Katherine but she always went by Kaye. My middle name is Kaye and I feel more honored than ever to do my best to carry on her legacy. Thank you Grandma for the example your set and the love you have shown me always. Until I see you again, I love you!
The above picture is my Grandparents, they have been married for 68 years!
They have shown me what it really means to love your spouse forever.
