The Beach - Day 2

Our 2nd day at the beach was spent shopping at the outlet malls, then shopping down Seaside's main street where there are lots of fun little shops and cute places to eat. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of it but the girls rode the carousel and we got the tastiest homemade ice cream in freshly made waffle cones from a little shop called Zingers. Travis and I shared a cone of toasted marshmallow. I'm not usually a big marshmallow fan but this was SO delicious.
Passion and Kindly had really been saving their money so that made the shopping a little more fun for them. Passion bought a kite. Kindly bought some fun sand toys and they both bought seashells. We also got the girls some matching shirts. Aren't they so adorable!
Next we headed to the Aquarium. There were seals to feed (pictured above), lots of sea creatures behind glass to look at and touch tanks that Passion just couldn't get enough of. The girls got to hold starfish, let hermit crabs crawl on their palms, touch sea urchins and anemones.
There were also four Octopus that were actually quite creepy looking. One of them wasn't behind glass but was in an open tank that you could look down in to. We were a little afraid that at any moment one of its long tentacles would reach up and get one of us!Here is Passion, Kindly, Cash (my nephew), and Summer (Sis-in-law) at the touch tanks.
We spent the rest of the day at the beach. It wasn't quite as warm as the day before but it was still a lot of fun. And Passion got to try out her new kite. She literally only had to hold it up and the wind just took it away. She was pretty impressed with her own kite flying skills!
We also played in the sand again but we built a sand castle this time. Aren't you impressed?
And we played in the water a little until it got too cold. Thank goodness for the gas fireplace back at the beach house!

And here are some pics of the Beach House! It was the nicest beach house I have ever stayed in. There were three floors. The bottom floor was the garage and laundry room. The middle floor was the living/dining/kitchen. The top floor had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The girls got to sleep in bunk beds which they thought was pretty awesome!
The living room & kitchen
The amazing Master Bedroom and tons of windows!Stay tuned for Day 3 at the beach and birthday posts!
