July is almost over!

Well I have been trying to get on here and blog all month and now that it's almost over I'll fill you in on what we've been doing. We spent the 4th with my parents, eating, swimming, and lighting off a few fireworks. We also took the girls to a big fireworks show a few nights before the 4th. I don't have any photos of it but we had a blast watching their reactions. Passion had seen the big fireworks before but Kindly hadn't. Every time one exploded in the air she would say ohhhh! or ahhh! and clap and scream. It was so cute. Passion enjoyed yelling and clapping too. I wish I had had my video camera. Here are the girls with some sparklers. Kindly held hers by herself. I was amazed! Then for the rest of July we have just been attempting to keep cool. The temperature has ranged from 98-104 by the afternoon. It has been fun to swim and run through the sprinklers.

In June we signed Passion and Kindly up for the summer reading program at the library. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. We had to read 40 books in order to earn a free book. And we could earn up to 5 free books for each child. We just finished their reading logs last week and between the two of them we read 400 children's books over the past 2 months and earned 10 new books! The girls really enjoyed going to the library and choosing a new book to keep. It has been really fun watching the girls want to read. Kindly, who wouldn't really sit and listen to a book for longer than a few seconds, has become a book worm and can't get enough. She constantly brings me a stack of books to read and follows me around with them saying "book, read, lap." And Passion has really started reading on her own. She knows about 40 sight words and does quite well.
We have had a wonderful summer and hope yours is going well too! Below are some swimming photos. This one is Passion floating on her back.
Here is Kindly totally amazed! My sister Nicole and her fiance, Scott, were riding around on the 4-wheeler while we were swimming. Every time the 4-wheeler past by Kindly would stare at it like this and say, "ohhhhh!"
Here is Passion, the Queen of the Swimming Pool!
