What a crazy few weeks! I have thought a lot about my blog but we have had quite a few changes to our schedule lately so needless to say I haven't found as much free time as I would have liked. So finally today I decided that I am just going to blog! Be warned, there are quite a few pictures!
December was here and gone before we new it! We did have a lot of fun though. We put up the Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving and that is where Wisdom spent most of the month. He loved to lay under the tree and look up at all the lights. He also liked to eat the presents! Luckily most of the presents made it 'til Christmas morning.

Here he is zonked out under the tree. So cute!
We could hardly wait for Christmas break to get here. No more waking up early and trying to get out the door by 8:30 am. The girls loved having all day to play together and came up with a lot of creative activities. Like playing Santa for example. Here's Passion guiding the sleigh with reindeer (aka dogs, cats, chipmunks, birds, horses etc.)
Christmas Eve we opened the traditional PJ's. Here we all are in our new Pajamas.
Here's Wisdom opening his new PJ's. He loved the bow the most, of course!
Christmas Morning was a lot of fun! The girls let us sleep in until 7 am. I was amazed! After reading Santa's letter and opening stockings, the girls had to search the tree for "the pickle!" This was a new tradition for our family that I think we'll definitely do every year from now on. A good friend of mine gave us a pickle ornament and told us about a German Christmas tradition where Santa hides a pickle somewhere on the tree. Then on Christmas morning whoever finds the pickle gets to open the first present. The girls had a lot of fun looking for the pickle. It took them a while and few clues but Passion finally found it. Next year we will have to tell Santa not to hide it in such a tricky spot! Here the girls are looking for the pickle.
Here is Kindly with her new train set all set up!
Here are the girls after trying out Passion's new make-up set. I'm not sure if you can tell but they both have yellow eyeshadow in their eyebrows and pink eyeshadow on their noses.
Here's what Santa brought Travis & me. Lets just say I am in heaven!!!
The day after Christmas we had plans to leave first thing in the morning for Vancouver to see Travis' family. But we weren't able to leave 'til after church because Travis was put in as 1st Counselor in the bishopric (hence our crazy new schedule). Sunday was a really amazing and uplifting morning (which was much needed after a pretty overwhelming week of feeling very much less than adequate). We were grateful we were able to change our plans and be here for the morning.
We got to Vancouver Sunday night and had a wonderful time there. The kids had a blast being with their cousins they don't get to see very often. Here they are with Grandpa Damon and two cousins.
They also loved going to a movie with Grandma, having a special book club meeting, a tea party, and going to Chuck E Cheeses. Here are a few photos from that adventure. Thank you Tina & Damon for packing our visit with so much fun!

What a fun Christmas!! I grew up with the pickle on the tree tradition as well--we never knew it was to open the first present though. We would just play a game with it where whoever found it got to hide it next, then we'd keep this going until we got tired of it. Using it for the first present is a cute idea! :) That Wisdom sure is getting big! Glad to see you guys are doing well! :)
It was so much fun seeing you guys again! Cute pictures and great update! WE miss you!
I loved all of the pictures. Wisdom is getting so big. Beautiful kids Jana. Wow what do you say to Travis' new calling? Congratulations doesn't seem like the right word how about good luck and you're whole family will be blessed in many ways. Again so good to see you the other day.
I second Brittany. Congratulations always sounded so worldly after such a trusted calling. Good Luck on your lone Sundays and mid-week lonely nights. The Lord with absolutely bless your service.
And I second the other comments too. Cute pictures. But how can you not have cute pictures--those kids are beautiful. I loved the makeup too!
